Cancer and Careers was a programme first developed by the CEW Foundation in New York to support employees diagnosed with cancer.
It was a simple idea, conceived in response to learning that five members of the CEW Inc. Board had been diagnosed with cancer. Despite readily available medical information, they found it difficult to find practical advice on balancing work demands with their treatment schedule. This brought about the very first "Living & Working with Cancer" Handbook.
CEW introduced the Cancer and Careers programme in the United Kingdom in 2004 and published our own "Living & Working with Cancer" handbook. We have now produced our 4th handbook - a National directory of contacts - and hope that this will be a valuable resource for those diagnosed with cancer and seeking to continue their work.
