On Friday 28th April 2017 at the glamorous London Hilton on Park Lane, more than 400 CEW members and accompanying guests gathered to celebrate the 2017 CEW Beauty Awards, which honours the beauty products deemed to be the best in the industry.
This year marks an exciting milestone for the annual Awards as CEW celebrates its 25th year in the UK. Sponsored by Amazon Beauty, Marks & Spencer and Philips, the 2017 Beauty Awards welcomed a record number of 87 finalists across 29 categories.
All 2017 CEW Beauty Awards winners received a highly coveted Lalique statuette and the honour of being able to carry the prestigious ‘CEW Beauty Awards Winner’ seal on their winning products. They will also be included within a multi-million pound promotional campaign following the awards.
To celebrate 25 years of the world’s greatest music and the 25th anniversary of CEW in the UK, Classic FM and CEW joined forces to create the Classic FM Beauty Hall of Fame award, with the winner receiving a £50,000 ClassicFM.com digital advertising prize. The entries were selected by leading journalist and author Jo Fairley to recognise the 25 most iconic beauty products over the past 25 years.
The recipient of the prestigious Classic FM Beauty Hall of Fame award was Aromatherapy Associates who won the award for their hero product Deep Relax Bath & Shower Oil.
Key highlights from this year’s 2017 CEW Beauty Awards:
Best New Brand Mass Award
‘Best New Brand Mass’ this year was awarded to The Ordinary from DECIEM. Launched in 2016, The Ordinary is the latest brand to join DECIEM’s umbrella of brands under their tagline ‘the abnormal beauty company.’ The Ordinary was created to ‘celebrate integrity in its most humble and true form’ and with price points ranging from just £4.90, the brand has truly taken the industry by storm. There is no doubt that receiving today’s Award will only add to The Ordinary’s ever-growing success story.
The Eco Award Sponsored by Givaudan
The winner of this year’s award was Weleda’s Jardin de Vie Fragrance Collection. An all-natural fragrance collection available in four different scents, the range took three years to develop and offers a revolutionary concept within the industry.Weleda is breaking new ground with their NATRUE-certified organic range that is free from the synthetic ingredients that are so common in conventional perfumes and use only 100% natural and sustainable ingredients - a well-deserved award for a truly revolutionary product within the market.
