CEW(UK) MENTORING EVENT WITH VANITA PARTI –FOUNDER BLINK EYEBROW BAR AND 2009 MEMBERS’ ACHIEVER

On  January 20th CEW (UK) were delighted to welcome Vanita Parti, their Members’ Achiever winner for 2009 as their guest mentor.  Vanita is the founder of the very successful and rapidly expanding Blink Eyebrow Bar.

She gave a fascinating presentation on how she turned the seed of an idea into a credible brand. She talked of her passion for the business and her hard work.

Vanita is a brand specialist but started her career in a completely different field, working at British Airways redeveloping and designing the first Flat seats in Business Class! After having her first child, she wanted to use her marketing expertise to grow and develop her own brand.

Members at the event heard how she had a passion for alternative beauty and a saw a niche in the market. After travelling to the outer London suburbs every two weeks to get her eyebrows threaded, she decided that it was time to make threading fashionable and accessible in London. They learnt that her idea did not take off immediately. It took a while to persuade the industry that eyebrow grooming on the shop floor would be the ‘next hot thing’ in beauty!  However her perseverance paid off. In just five years she has 10 brow bars, 85 staff and still can’t meet demand.  Never one to sit still she now plans to make Blink a global brand.
